Quien tiene mi firefox???

Empezo hace como una semana, cuando el firefox 1.0.8 ubuntu estuvo listo en los repositorios...en mi usual update/upgrade, me mando el error que estaba intentando sobreescribir una extension que no estaba accessible (classic00 o 00classic, algo asi). Firefox partia bien...

Creo que a la sesion siguiente el firefox-ubuntu no partio....onda que hacia la finta, pero nunca aparecia....bah...quiza sea la oportunidad perfecta para instalar el firefox 1.5, me dije a mi misma...

dicho y hecho, mozilla firefox 1.5 instalado y corriendo...cambie la ruta a los lanzadores y todo bien...con la excepcion que cada vez que queria actualizar, me daba el errorcillo ese de la extension y no se upgradeaba.

Hoy no partio nada...me entraron los indios y me puse a mandar comandos en consola:

tons desinstale mozilla, a ver si agarraba desde cero

como el sistema me sugirio lo de las fuentes, ahi fue obediente a instalar

pregunte por mozilla y me dijo que estaba instalado en su ultima version, pero no partia, busque donde estaba y fui a ver cada una de las ubicaciones, por si partia, pero nada.

Aun no corre (a veces cuando lo intento hacer partir me dice que ya esta corriendo, pero me miente!) y hasta ahi no mas me llego el impulso...ahora estoy con epiphany...igual podria instalar otro navegador, pero me cae mal que firefox se haya puesto mañoso. Hace como que parte, veo la ventana minimizada en la barra abajo, pero cuando deberia aparecer la ventana maximizada, desaparece.

Sugerencias?
problemas de permisos en alguna carpeta? me falta desinstalar algo? (borre la carpeta donde habia instalado el firefox 1.5)
