Creo que a la sesion siguiente el firefox-ubuntu no partio....onda que hacia la finta, pero nunca aparecia....bah...quiza sea la oportunidad perfecta para instalar el firefox 1.5, me dije a mi misma...
dicho y hecho, mozilla firefox 1.5 instalado y corriendo...cambie la ruta a los lanzadores y todo bien...con la excepcion que cada vez que queria actualizar, me daba el errorcillo ese de la extension y no se upgradeaba.
Hoy no partio nada...me entraron los indios y me puse a mandar comandos en consola:

pregunte por mozilla y me dijo que estaba instalado en su ultima version, pero no partia, busque donde estaba y fui a ver cada una de las ubicaciones, por si partia, pero nada.

y luego probe mandar a instalar de nuevo, por si las moscas

Hace como que parte, veo la ventana minimizada en la barra abajo, pero cuando deberia aparecer la ventana maximizada, desaparece.

Sugerencias?
problemas de permisos en alguna carpeta? me falta desinstalar algo? (borre la carpeta donde habia instalado el firefox 1.5)

mi wachita polar trate con los siguiente
apt-get -f remove mozilla-firefox
con eso fuerzas que remueva todo mozilla firefox.
Luego de eso pongale apt-get install mozilla-firefox
y si no funciona probaremos algo mas

Mhh. Has intentado:
(haz un backup de tu directorio .mozilla por si las moscas)
apt-get remove mozilla-firefox firefox --purge
apt-get install firefox firefox-gnome-support
Y deberias ejecutar firefox desde un terminal y postear que te sale.
